The Team & Role

SevenRooms is looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the RevOps/BI Data team.  You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data processes, architecture, and software in collaboration with the BI Data analysts.  As the first Analytics Engineer on this team, you will coordinate with business leadership and other stakeholders to build and optimize SevenRooms’ internal data infrastructure in order to support business intelligence for teams such as Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Finance along with cross functional coordination with our Product team.  You will utilize ETL/Reverse ETL, and other data migration technologies and skills to design and update our data architecture to accommodate changes in company needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with data analysts, business systems managers, and other engineering teams to understand the analytical & reporting needs and expected outcomes of the organization
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
  • Implement, manage, and scale data pipelines in preparation for data models, analytics, reporting, and machine learning that will inform key business decisions and improve operational efficiency
  • Research, implement, test, and launch new data products and/or various third party solutions to solve our data needs
  • Assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
  • Troubleshoot data-related technical issues with the data team, stakeholders, and leadership across the organization

Who You Are

  • Have 5+ years of professional experience in a Data Engineering, Data Analyst, Analytics Engineering, or related position; Data Analytics experience is a plus
  • Vast experience building and optimizing complex, structured, and unstructured datasets from the ground up
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analyses and reverse engineer existing technical projects to help optimize and provide recommendations
  • Strong understanding and analytical skills related to both structured and unstructured datasets
  • Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
  • Possess a demonstrated understanding and experience using big data, data architecture, and complex and dynamic data schemas
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, BigQuery, and Looker (or similar)
  • Experience with Jupyter (or similar) and DBT
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data concepts so they are understandable, consumable, and/or actionable by a variety of audiences
