Senior Manager, Accounting

The Team & Role

SevenRooms is looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting to lead the management of daily accounting processes and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is well organized, possesses a strong attention to detail, and can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This individual should be a self-starter, comfortable with owning projects from start to finish and proactively providing insights to our Finance Team, Leadership Team and key stakeholders across the business.

What You'll Do

  • Manage monthly close processes, including but not limited to general ledger review, journal entry review, and analysis and reconciliation of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
  • Prepare GAAP Financial Statements with a walk to Management reporting on a monthly basis
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Revenue Recognition guidance. Support all Customer facing functions in ensuring policies and procedures result in accurate revenue reporting
  • Supervise Accounting staff and review their deliverables for compliance and accuracy
  • Develop and maintain technical accounting policies and memos
  • Own financial systems and financial system requirements for accounting, Accounts Payable, Expense Reimbursement, etc.
  • Oversee external accountants for audit and tax, and ensure timely completion of third party services
  • Evaluate and Implement process and system improvements where necessary, with the goal being to close the books as quickly and accurately as possible

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, with prior experience managing an accounting team
  • Effective leader with a proven ability to build, inspire and motivate teams
  • Public accounting audit experience strongly preferred
  • Strong Technical understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
  • Excellent ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Excellent ability to partner with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficient in Netsuite, Microsoft Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint

    • The salary range for this role is $145,000.00 – $160,000.00. This is the range SevenRooms in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed remotely in any US state. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
