Welcome to Family Meal, our blog series spotlighting our incredible Roomies. This month, we’re excited to feature Robyn Fok, an Australia-based Customer Success Manager helping clients across the APAC region.
Robyn: Hello, my name is Robyn Fok, and I am a Customer Success Manager here at SevenRooms on our Enterprise team. I've been a Roomie since August 2022.
Robyn: I love seeing how far and fast our product evolves. Working in a global company and a global team alongside product managers, product engineers, and various other departments is really something special. In customer success, we collaborate with teams around the world. Additionally, being able to deliver new features and discuss strategies with our clients is incredibly rewarding. Having been a client myself, I now get to live vicariously through my clients as I watch the platform evolve and reach new potential.
Robyn: Finding success and purpose after a career change. Having transitioned from nearly a decade in hospitality marketing to a role in customer success in tech, I feel valued by incredibly talented colleagues who work across completely different skill sets and teams within our organization. Being recognized as a valued contributor to a growing company—while continuing to support the hospitality industry in a different, yet adjacent, role—is truly rewarding.
Robyn: For me, it’s a combination of the food, the ambiance, and the hospitality that makes a memorable dining experience. I would say Gimlet in Melbourne does a really good job of this consistently. Whether you're a regular, a first-timer, celebrating a birthday, or someone with dietary requirements, they make you feel truly welcome — as if you've been there many times over the years. That’s truly something special.
Robyn: I LOVE to cook! It's probably deeply linked to growing up in a hospitality family (and having a boyfriend who's a chef). My parents owned a McDonald's franchise when I was growing up, and I have romanticized childhood memories of food service—from sizzling burger patties on a grill to fries pulled fresh from the fryer and perfectly golden hotcakes being flipped and stacked. I also loved watching endless hours of the Food Network—Ina Garten, Jamie Oliver, and Nigella Lawson. These days, Alison Roman inspires me to pick up the tools, try new things, and feed the people I love.
Robyn: Aside from my family and a close group of friends... any form of spicy noodle soup!
Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
Robyn: I don't know if this is a fun fact or just revealing something so sad, but I can't ride a bike. Is that a fun fact? I've just never been able to master the two-wheel balance situation. I'm really good on rollerblades. I can ice skate. I just can't ride a bike. Oh, and I can't ride an electric scooter either. Something about that two-wheel thing.
