The guest experience and retention platform will now enable restaurants to communicate COVID protocols and vaccination policies throughout the booking process
LONDON (15 September 2021) With COVID-19 restrictions now lifted in the UK, restaurants are able to take matters into their own hands with regards to safeguarding staff and diners. For restaurants looking to ensure their diners are vaccinated, guest experience and retention platform SevenRooms has announced new vaccine-related product features to assist operators in communicating their COVID-19 safety and vaccination policies efficiently.
The new features include the ability to incorporate messaging around COVID safety protocols and vaccine requirements in booking widgets and the option to include tick boxes confirming vaccination status at booking. Furthermore, through SevenRooms, partner venues are now able to specify their COVID vaccination policies as part of reservation confirmation emails and booking reminders.
SevenRooms has additionally added a feature allowing restaurants to tag guests as ‘Vaccine Verified’, removing the legwork necessary when serving repeat customers as vaccination status will only need to be verified on the first visit. Furthermore, the ‘Vaccine Verified’ tag can be shared globally across group locations: a location can verify a diner’s vaccination status just once and apply this across the entire group, saving guests from repeating the process at each one.
Joel Montaniel, CEO & Founder at SevenRooms, comments: “Since the onset of the pandemic, SevenRooms has seen COVID-related inquiries from both hospitality clients and prospects related to ways they can leverage the platform to keep guests and staff safe while staying compliant with varying government regulations. We’ve had many conversations over the past seven months on how our platform can be used to communicate vaccine requirements and other COVID-related guidelines (like mask-wearing) with guests. In fact, from January to July 2021, we’ve seen a 500% increase in the number of customers looking for product solutions to communicate vaccine and other COVID-related requirements.”
“Today, SevenRooms offers an extensive suite of tools aimed at helping operators not only navigate COVID health and safety requirements, but also implement various communication touchpoints related to vaccine requirements. This includes communicating policies on the initial reservation booking page, throughout the booking process when picking a time, on the reservation check-out page, on booking confirmation emails, and in pre-arrival SMS communications. Additionally, with guest tags, restaurants can enable a ‘Vaccination Verified’ tag once a guest has shown proof of vaccination. This means restaurants don’t have to ask for proof every time that specific guest visits that venue or another venue within their hospitality group. Plus, using the tag they can segment their database and market to guests automatically with indoor-dining-specific promotions moving forward.”
