The Australian Federal Government’s JobKeeper scheme is set to end on March 28 and forecasts show that as many as 250,000 Australians could lose their jobs when the scheme ends. Hospitality, one of the hardest-hit industries during the pandemic, was heavily reliant on the scheme as venues worked to keep staff employed while lockdowns heavily impacted their trading capacity.

The end of the scheme will represent a daunting cliff-edge for many hospitality operators. Many Aussie diners believe more support is needed for the local hospitality industry to fully return to its vibrant, globally-renowned, pre-pandemic level.
