SevenRooms brings industry conference to Sydney for the first time, highlighting innovation, AI and the future of guest experiences in the hospitality industry
SYDNEY (February 5, 2025) – SevenRooms, the leading CRM, marketing and operations platform for the hospitality sector, is bringing the second edition of its hospitality summit – Shift – to Sydney in 2025. The event, hosted at the ivy Ballroom on February 25, will gather industry leaders, restaurateurs, and hospitality innovators to explore the future of the sector, with a focus on innovation, AI, marketing, revenue management and strategies to elevate guest experiences in an ever-evolving sector.
Shift takes place at a critical time for Australian restaurants, bars and cafes. Long-term economic pressures continue to impact business budgets and consumer spending, but the industry enjoyed a strong Q4, with SevenRooms data showing that monthly reservations were 8.9% higher in December than October, while the average covers per venue increased by 27.3% over the same period. December was the best-performing month for reservations in the whole of 2024, while covers per venue were 21.7% higher in Q4 than in Q1.
Against that backdrop, Shift will gather some of the most influential names, brands and groups in the Australian hospitality sector to discuss the future of the industry, the rise of AI and SuperHuman Hospitality™, evolving consumer habits and how restaurant, hotel and pub operators can turn data into increased revenue and retention.
SevenRooms has gained significant traction among hospitality leaders in Australia, particularly in hospitality hubs like Sydney and Melbourne. Used in 2,500+ venues across Australia, SevenRooms powers some of the biggest names in the industry, including Australian Venue Group, Merivale, Solotel, Hunter St. Hospitality and Pacific Concepts, Applejack Hospitality, and Crown Resorts.
"Australia has been a cornerstone market for SevenRooms, demonstrating incredible growth and innovation since our launch here in 2020. Sydney, with its world-renowned hospitality scene and visionary operators, is the perfect host for the second edition of Shift,” said Joel Montaniel, CEO and Co-Founder of SevenRooms. “Shift is an opportunity to bring together some of the most influential voices in hospitality to share insights that drive innovation, foster collaboration and build a stronger, more profitable industry together. We’re excited to celebrate this vibrant community and foster meaningful conversations that drive the industry forward."
In a packed schedule that also features a keynote from renowned big-wave surfer, Mark Matthews, sessions will include:
“We are delighted to host this year’s Shift in Australia. Shift is more than a customer conference for SevenRooms, it’s a gathering of industry leaders and innovators tackling challenges both big and small to bring their businesses into the future,” said Danilo Mangano, EVP, International at SevenRooms. “After a challenging few years, the Australian hospitality sector enjoyed a strong end to 2024. At Shift we’ll be bringing together the region’s leading brands to spark conversations that will shape the future of the industry, helping operators maintain that momentum in 2025 and beyond."
Following the summit, the ivy Sunroom will play host to an unmissable afterparty of networking, live entertainment and installations, mouthwatering food and beverages celebrating the local dining scene, photobooths to immortalise the evening, and personalised gift stations.
