Family Meal: Employee Spotlight with Cristine Urbina

Welcome to Family Meal, our blog series where we spotlight one of our amazing Roomies. This month, we sat down with Cristine Urbina, Billing Manager, based in the U.S.

Tell us a little about yourself.

Cristine: Hi! My name is Cristine Urbina. I'm the Billing Manager here at SevenRooms, and I’ve been with the company since November 2023.

What do you love most about working at SevenRooms?

Cristine: I absolutely love the people I work with. Everyone is friendly, always willing to help, and eager to provide opportunities for learning and growth. Additionally, I really enjoy working on process improvement projects. These initiatives impact not only my team but the organization as a whole.

Can you share a story of a time that you put one (or more) of our Core Values into action within your role?

Cristine: We recently introduced monthly billing office hours and an accounts receivable (AR) Slack channel, which allows me to embody the values of here to serve and put everything on the table. These two resources provide direct access to the billing team for anyone in the organization, whether they have client-specific questions or general inquiries about our processes. This fosters cross-functional collaboration among our teams and, ultimately, improves the experience we provide to our clients.

What one thing are you most proud of from your time at SevenRooms?

Cristine: I’m most proud of my growth in confidence and in my career. Leading process improvement projects and meetings with my team has directly contributed to that growth.

Describe for us your favorite dining experience.

Cristine: One of my favorite dining experiences was at a SevenRooms client, Azuki, an omakase sushi spot here in San Diego. It was an incredible experience because I normally wouldn’t have tried some of the sushi rolls that were served. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I was able to try a lot of delicious food.

What’s the best podcast you’ve listened to recently?

Cristine: I shamelessly love a good murder mystery. My current favorite podcast is Murder, Mystery, and Makeup.

What is a non-work activity or hobby that you do?

Cristine: I really enjoy roller skating! I got into it during the pandemic because it helped me get out of the house and stay active. My husband and I would go to the park—he’d play basketball, and I’d skate around.

What's one thing you can't live without?

Cristine: I can’t live without the beach! I grew up in Miami and now live in San Diego, so the beach has always been a huge part of my life.
