Collectively we can #EmbraceEquity.
International Women’s Day is a celebration of how far women’s rights and gender equality have come, but it’s also an important day to recognize what still needs to be done. This years theme, #EmbraceEquity, focuses on creating an equitable and inclusive world that is free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. It asks that people worldwide join together to build more equitable communities.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, we asked our Roomies what #EmbraceEquity means to them.
Customer Success Manager : NAM
My break into the tech world came because an open-minded person judged me solely on the content of my character and the merit of my ideas, not on a deficit in my background that would limit me from achieving my goals.
To me, #EmbracingEquity means giving people equal opportunities and realizing that great ideas come from great people, and great people come from everywhere from all kinds of circumstances.
Lead QA Analyst : NAM
To me, #EmbracingEquity means providing women with the necessary resources and support to pursue their careers. In the workplace, I think it means ensuring the room is filled with diversity and inclusivity by valuing different beliefs, perspectives, and thoughts. I also think it is important to speak up and challenge inequality to support an environment that is fair for all individuals.
HR Director : EMEA & APAC
To me, #EmbracingEquity means embracing individuality, creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing experiences and feedback, and not worrying about upsetting the apple cart by challenging the status quo.
Customer Success Specialist : NAM
