COVID Confidence Report: UK

At the heart of a restaurant’s success lies a truly great guest experience. With this in mind, we took a deep dive into guest expectations when it comes to today’s dining experiences to identify what makes a guest feel confident and comfortable to return time and time again.

SevenRooms’ recently release study, COVID Confidence Report, showcases British consumer sentiment, highlighting how hospitality operators need to adapt and cater to a wider range of dining personas and experiences post local lockdowns. The impact on guest confidence as a result of a second round of closures varies greatly, offering UK venues food for thought on how they can build back better. The data includes:

  • 51% of Brits report that nothing would prevent them from turning up for a restaurant booking and failing to cancel
  • 55% of UK consumers believe venues should be implementing more health & safety measure beyond the recommendations of the government
  • 29% of UK consumers say they prefer to book directly with a venue
  • 35% of UK diners are more inclined to dine at a restaurant they’ve been to previously
